Job summary

Platinum XP is seeking an experienced AV Technician to join our growing events team in Kansas City. You will gain hands-on experience from warehouse prep to on-site execution.

You will work with our operations team learning audio, video, lighting, LED wall setup and more, supporting Project Managers and the Director of Operations. Some travel for national events is possible.

This full-time role requires a reliable team player with a positive attitude and the ability to lift heavy gear.

We are looking for an experienced AV Technician to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in every aspect of event production, from warehouse prep to on-site execution. You'll work closely with our operations team to learn audio, video, lighting, stage builds, LED wall setup, and more

This position will provide support to our Project Managers and the Director of Operations in various capacities including but not limited to:

Warehouse & Pre-Event Prep

• Pull, test, and prep gear for live and virtual events
• Replace damaged or outdated equipment
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently

On-Site Event Production

• Set up and strike equipment at live event venues
• Serve in various event tech roles: camera operator, teleprompter tech, lighting/audio/video tech, backstage liaison, stage runner, etc.
• Interact with clients and teammates professionally while on-site
• Travel occasionally for national events

General Operations

• Maintain and clean gear, support in-house fabrication and general upkeep
• Assist with resetting and maintaining event spaces
• Follow daily and weekly warehouse duties as assigned

Requirements

• Live event production or related experience required
• Reliable, dependable team player
• Positive attitude and willingness to solve problems
• Experience driving large trucks is a plus, but not required
• Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.

This is a full-time salaried position based in Kansas City with a standard start time of 9:00am for non-event days. Event work may require nights, weekends, and occasional travel.
