Job summary

DataVox is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Service Technician to join our Dallas–Fort Worth team. The role focuses on maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and support for commercial AV systems across the Dallas–Fort Worth market.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AV installation/commissioning experience, with strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with Crestron/AMX control systems, networking basics, and professional presentation on client sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial Audio Visual installation, commissioning, or service experience.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex Audio Visual systems.
• Experience working in commercial construction environments.
• Experience with AMX and/or Crestron control systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial audio visual systems
• Troubleshoot complex Audio Visual, video conferencing, and control system issues
• Perform service calls and preventative maintenance on installed AV systems
• Configure and support Audio Visual control platforms such as Crestron and AMX
• Install, configure, and calibrate audio and video equipment
• Service projection systems, displays, DSPs, switchers, and presentation systems
• Perform rack modifications and equipment upgrades
• Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
• Document service activities and communicate findings with customers and internal teams
• Provide excellent customer service while representing DataVox at client sites
• Assist with commissioning and system optimization as needed

What You'll Do

As anAudio VisualService Technician, you will provide maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and support for commercial audiovisual systems throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

Responsibilities:

Who You Are:

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial Audio Visual installation, commissioning, or service experience
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting complex Audio Visual systems
• Experience working in commercial construction environments
• Experience with AMX and/or Crestron control systems
• Strong understanding of:

Preferred Qualifications

• CTS-I or CTS-D Certification
• Experience with Audio Architect, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar DSP platforms
• AutoCAD, AudioCAD, or VidCAD experience
• Experience with enterprise conference room technologies

Physical Demands:

Work involves standing, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stand, stoop, kneel, drive and reach. Skill in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment; and ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in inclement weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Work on job sites require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
