Daly Computers, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking an Audio Visual Design Engineer to plan and document AV solutions for customer projects onsite.

You will partner with Sales, create layouts, design systems for huddle spaces, classrooms, and key spaces, and develop bid specifications for opportunities. This is a full-time role with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years engineering experience in AV/Broadcasting design.
• Industry certifications CTS, CTS-D, and/or BICSI.
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifts as required.
• Ability to read and write schematics and architectural drawings.
• Ability to analyze and resolve issues at functional and strategic levels.
• Advanced knowledge of Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Z-Band and Panasonic.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into AV system designs.
• Create initial data, preliminary layouts, and sketch concepts.
• Design new systems for huddle spaces, training rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, boardrooms.
• Develop Bid Specifications for opportunities.
• Produce detailed schematic diagrams, cost analysis, and labor estimates.
• Generate project documentation such as descriptions and State of Work, plus List of Materials and drawings.
• Provide required documentation including page layouts, program files, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Attend Project Review at the end of the assignment.
• Create Change Orders with the Project Manager for product changes and approvals.
• Ensure as-built documentation and Change Orders are complete.
• Conduct R&D on new products to improve client solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to translate customer needs into simple to complex AV system designs.
• Create initial data, preliminary layouts, and sketch concepts to support design proposal development.
• Design new systems and equipment configurations for use cases including huddle spaces, training rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, boardrooms, and other customer areas.
• Develop Bid Specifications for assigned opportunities.
• Produce detailed schematic diagrams, perform cost analysis, and estimate job-related labor.
• Generate comprehensive project documentation such as project descriptions and State of Work, plus supporting items including List of Materials and drawings.
• Provide additional required documentation, which may include page layouts, program files, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Attend Project Review at the end of the assignment.
• Create Change Orders as needed with the Project Manager for product changes, enhancements, and additions, and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
• Ensure as-built documentation and Change Orders are complete and accurate.
• Conduct R&D on new products that can improve solutions offered to clients.
