FORTÉ is hiring a Design Engineer in Madison, WI to design AV systems that meet client needs. You’ll analyze hardware/software options, create CAD drawings, and ensure integrated, reliable deployments. This role supports project teams from concept through installation with emphasis on cost control and documentation.

The team is employee-owned, offering growth, ongoing learning, and a comprehensive benefits package. CTS/CTS-D are a plus but not required with applicable experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Design Engineering experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in the service and installation of audio, video and presentation systems.
• Knowledgeable of control systems (Crestron, QSC, Extron, AMX) and DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC, Clearone, BSS)
• Ability to prepare, understand, and interpret advanced single-line diagrams, architectural, construction, and electrical drawings
• Knowledge of project financial reports, and the ability to control costs in the design and management of projects is essential
• Ability to read engineering schematics and communicate design intent
• CTS and CTS-D certifications are a plus but not required with the right experience.

• Design audiovisual systems of various hardware and software components that work together as one integrated system and that meet customer’s specific needs
• Support projects and our team throughout the implementation process.

• CTS and CTS-D certifications are a plus but not required with the right experience. Any other industry related certs or training are also a plus. (Ex: Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure etc.)
