Integrated Technologies Group is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Engineer with Extron programming and AV system commissioning skills for project-based work in San Diego, CA. The role suits an independent contractor who can manage programming, testing, troubleshooting, and client handover to deliver fully functional systems on schedule.

Onsite project work with occasional remote programming as project scope allows. Strong focus on quality, client satisfaction, and professional communication.

• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, DSP audio, control systems, and AV networking.
• Ability to read system diagrams and troubleshoot installed systems independently.

Responsabilidades

• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Extron control systems.
• Commission AV equipment including displays, projectors, switchers, touch panels, audio processors, microphones, and conferencing systems.
• Configure and test signal routing, control functions, audio performance, and network connectivity.
• Review drawings, equipment specifications, and system requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve programming, configuration, and equipment issues.
• Coordinate with ITG project managers, installation teams, and client IT personnel.
• Complete functional testing, document outstanding issues, and verify system readiness for client acceptance.
• Provide final program files, configuration backups, commissioning reports, and basic client training as required by the project.

About the Opportunity

Integrated Technologies Group is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Engineer with strong Extron programming and AV system commissioning skills for project-based assignments.

We provide low-voltage consulting, project management, installation, and integration services. We are looking for a dependable technical partner who can bring installed systems online, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable, fully functioning systems to our clients.

This opportunity is suited to an independent AV professional or established service provider interested in individual projects and potential ongoing collaboration.

Scope of Work

Program, configure, and troubleshoot Extron control systems.

Commission AV equipment, including displays, projectors, switchers, touch panels, audio processors, microphones, and conferencing systems.

Configure and test signal routing, control functions, audio performance, and network connectivity.

Review drawings, equipment specifications, and system requirements.

Diagnose and resolve programming, configuration, and equipment issues.

Coordinate with ITG project managers, installation teams, and client IT personnel.

Complete functional testing, document outstanding issues, and verify system readiness for client acceptance.

Provide final program files, configuration backups, commissioning reports, and basic client training as required by the project.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience programming and commissioning Extron systems.

Proficiency with Extron Global Configurator; Global Scripter/Python experience is a plus.

Strong understanding of commercial AV signal flow, DSP audio, control systems, and AV networking.

Ability to read system diagrams and troubleshoot installed systems independently.

Professional communication and a strong focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Ability to travel to project sites throughout San Diego County.

Access to the tools, laptop, and software needed to perform contracted services.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Extron certifications.

Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Dante, Crestron, or similar platform experience.

Experience with classrooms, conference rooms, training rooms, and other commercial AV environments.

Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms.

Project Arrangement

Services will be contracted on a project-by-project basis, with scope, deliverables, schedule, and compensation agreed upon before each assignment. Project volume will vary, with opportunities for repeat engagements based on project needs and successful performance.
