Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking an Event Production Technician to design, set up, and support onsite and hybrid events for a global technology client.

The role involves technical strategy, control room optimization, and real‑time quality control across video, audio, lighting, graphics, and streaming. You will work with robotic cameras, virtual platforms, and post‑production tools to deliver high‑quality client productions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in event production, broadcast, video production, or similar field.
  • 1+ years of experience in onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events.
  • Studio production and event experience.
  • Experience with control room equipment including video switchers, audio consoles, robotic cameras, and video playback software.
  • Knowledge of virtual production and meeting platforms.
  • Keen eye for detail with knowledge of what creatively works well for broadcast production.
  • Track record of being strategic, organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and working well in a team; also capable of working independently.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude during high‑pressure situations.
  • Strong work ethic, self‑direction, self‑motivation, patience, persistence, and perspective.
  • Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills; understand importance of white‑glove service.
  • Ability to work independently and be self‑reliant in executing daily responsibilities.
  • Consistent proactive preparation and timely responses to multiple channels of communication.
  • Experience with Ross production environments and video switchers including Ultrix routers, Carbonite and Ultra switchers.
  • Experience with audio production systems including Yamaha audio consoles, Dante audio routing networks, Shure microphones, and intercom systems.
  • Experience with Panasonic PTZ Cameras.
  • Familiarity with post‑production software including Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro.

  • Oversee design, setup, and configuration of all necessary control room elements to ensure a high‑quality event for client productions.
  • Determine required hardware, equipment, and production assets needed for the event and oversee necessary testing and quality control on all items prior.
  • Oversee the operational approach to fulfill the creative production needs for client events, including but not limited to: Technical direction, Audio mixing, Robotic cameras, Virtual platforms, Graphics, Video playback, Streaming, Lighting design, Teleprompter.
  • Execute virtual events on various virtual event platforms such as StreamYard, Wirecast, and VMix.
  • Provide support for staging and creative lighting design.
  • Use expert knowledge of production equipment to ensure optimization of all equipment configurations and setups; recommend repair or replacement of equipment when needed.
  • Collaborate on assessment and recommendation of solutions around overall strategy for studio and event spaces based on operational requirements.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings with team members to ensure alignment on event procedures, scheduling, and production briefs.

Job description

The Event Production Technician will play a critical role in the design, setup, and support of onsite and hybrid events for an established global technology client.

Responsibilities
  • Use technical expertise and creative innovation to contribute to the overall technical strategy of live events based on the creative vision and unique event scope.
  • Utilize deep knowledge of video equipment and technology to ensure flawless operation of all video equipment and make real‑time adjustments to ensure quality control.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize the operational setup of the production control room and oversee troubleshooting of all aspects of the client's production facilities and control rooms.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Travel required based on production and service needs, including meetings at client offices and AVI‑SPL VideoLink offices.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.

Pay Type: Hourly – Min Base: $25/hr – Max Base: $33.65/hr
