Job summary

The Moth, a nonprofit storytelling organization in NYC, is offering a Radio & Podcast Intern for Fall 2026. This part-time internship runs four months, with 24 hours per week, scheduled Tue-Wed 10am-6pm, and a $17 per hour wage plus a $60 monthly transportation stipend.

Training and increasing creative responsibility are planned. As part of the team behind The Moth Radio Hour and The Moth Podcast, you'll assist with production, editing, and publishing, learn tools, and gain hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Current college student or recent graduate pursuing (or holding) a degree in Journalism, Media, Production, or a related field
• Experience in audio editing — Pro Tools preferred, but experience with Reaper, Adobe Audition, or Hindenburg (plus willingness to learn Pro Tools) works too
• Familiarity with the radio or podcast landscape
• Passion for storytelling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with production, editing, and recording of episodes, interviews, and ad spots
• Support story/episode curation, quality checks, and publishing
• Maintain episode archives, broadcast schedules, and web pages
• Support script prep, synopsis writing, and audio/transcript archiving
• Compile data/demographics and provide general admin support
• Assist with additional projects as assigned
