Job summary

Sigma Connectivity is seeking an experienced Audio Mechanical Design Engineer for its Sunnyvale or Seattle labs. You’ll design micro-plastic mechanical solutions for high‑volume audio modules, prototype and test, and collaborate across teams from concept to mass production.

You will engage with external manufacturers to optimize resources and meet performance goals. The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, CAD proficiency, and experience with consumer electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 4+ years in product design for micro-speakers in high-volume consumer electronics.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and geometric tolerancing.
• Experience with NX CAD and 3D CAD; plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of micro-plastic mechanical solutions for audio microspeaker modules.
• Model, build and test prototypes; establish test systems for mechanical and acoustic validation.
• Collaborate across teams from concept to mass production for seamless integration.
• Work with external manufacturers and vendors to optimize resources and differentiation.
• Stay updated on tech advancements and explore new approaches for mechanical challenges in audio transducer design.
• Occasionally travel to vendors up to 15% to coordinate with teams in Asia.
