Job summary

InTEC of San Antonio is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily testing operations at our Austin location. The role focuses on coordinating activities, ensuring accuracy of tests and documentation, and supporting both field and laboratory technicians.

You will supervise testing of concrete, soil, aggregate, and asphalt, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in CMT laboratory testing.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and TxDOT testing procedures.
• ACI certifications preferred.

This position is responsible for coordinating laboratory activities, ensuring accurate testing and documentation, and supporting field and laboratory technicians.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory testing activities.
• Perform and oversee testing of concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Coordinate assignments for laboratory and field technicians.
• Assist with daily scheduling and dispatching of technicians as needed.
• Review test results, calculations, reports, and laboratory documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure testing is performed according to ASTM, ACI, TxDOT, project specifications, and company procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibrations, and required records.
• Monitor laboratory supplies, samples, and equipment.
• Assist with technician training, certifications, and performance development.
• Review and approve employee time and assist with scheduling.
• Identify testing issues or discrepancies and communicate them to management.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional laboratory environment.
• Ensure employees follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in CMT laboratory testing required.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, and TxDOT testing procedures.
• ACI certifications preferred.
• TxDOT certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, soil, aggregate, and asphalt testing.
• Ability to review calculations and test data accurately.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities.
• Computer skills and ability to complete electronic reports and documentation.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience

• Laboratory supervision or lead technician experience.
• ACI Strength, Aggregate, or Laboratory certifications.
• TxDOT SB101, SB103, SB201, Level 1A, or related certifications.
• Experience with SFRM testing is a plus.
• Experience with laboratory quality control, calibrations, and recordkeeping.
