Travis County in Austin is seeking an experienced attorney to handle complex civil or criminal matters for county government. The role requires strong research, analysis and litigation document drafting skills, with responsibility for depositions, discovery, and trial preparation.
Attorney V–VII levels require a JD/LLB and 6–10 years of licensed experience, and Texas licensure. The position is based in the County Attorney department, with standard weekday hours.
Practices civil or criminal law for Texas County or District government.
This is the seventh in a series of seven attorney-related job classifications within the Attorneys job family. This classification handles cases and matters that are the most complex and that may result in the most severe consequences without supervision.
Attorney V: J.D./LL.B. from an accredited law school AND six (6) years licensed attorney work experience. Salary range starting at $105,892.80.
Attorney VI: J.D./LL.B. from an accredited law school AND eight (8) years licensed attorney work experience. Salary range starting at $113,318.40.
Attorney VII: J.D./LL.B. from an accredited law school AND ten (10) years licensed attorney work experience.Salary range starting at $121,243.20.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motion, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, balancing, client/customer contact, squatting to perform the essential functions.
