Job summary

Stange Law Firm, PC is seeking a Family Law Attorney in Austin, Texas. The attorney will manage cases, interact directly with clients, negotiate settlements, and appear in court, with a focus on family law matters across Central Texas.

This full-time position offers a base salary of $90,000–$120,000, plus potential bonuses, generous health and retirement benefits, and substantial PTO. Experience in family law is preferred, but ambitious litigators are welcome to apply.

Stange Law Firm, PC has an immediate opening for a motivated attorney to join our team in Austin, Texas.

At Stange Law Firm, attorneys do far more than research and paperwork. You will manage cases, work directly with clients, negotiate settlements, appear in court, conduct hearings and trials, and help families navigate some of the most important and difficult moments of their lives.

Family law experience is preferred but not required. We welcome experienced family law attorneys as well as litigators interested in developing a rewarding career in domestic relations law.

This position is based in Austin, Texas, and serves clients throughout Central Texas, including Travis County, Williamson County, Hays County, Bastrop County, Caldwell County, and the surrounding region.

Position Responsibilities

The attorney will:

• Manage family law matters from inception through resolution
• Advise and communicate regularly with clients
• Draft pleadings, motions, judgments, orders, discovery, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial
• Attend court appearances, conferences, mediations, hearings, and trials
• Negotiate settlements and advocate effectively for clients
• Communicate professionally with opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third parties
• Maintain organized and accurate case files
• Complete assignments and work product accurately and timely
• Record billable time consistently in accordance with firm policies
• Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and firm leadership
• Participate in professional-development and internal attorney-training programs

The attorney will handle matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, guardianship, estate planning, and other legal issues affecting families.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess:

• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• An active Texas law license in good standing
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Effective courtroom, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• The ability to manage cases, deadlines, and client expectations professionally
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team

Family law experience is preferred but not required. Attorneys with litigation experience in other practice areas who are interested in transitioning into family law are encouraged to apply.

Senior Associate opportunities may be available for candidates with five or more years of relevant litigation experience.
