This position is part of the The Office of the Inspector General, Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC.

To qualify for the Attorney-Advisor (General), PG-0905-14, you must meet the following requirements:
EDUCATION:

Attorneys must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a school of law that is accredited by the American Bar Association.

LICENCSED ATTORNEY AND BAR MEMBERSHIP:

A current, valid license with eligibility to practice law in a state, the District of Columbia, or any United States territory or commonwealth is required to include active bar membership in good standing. Admission to the bar of any State, territory, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, or Federal Court is acceptable.

LEGAL EXPERIENCE:

You must possess three (3) years of professional legal experience post bar admission with one year of experience that is equivalent to the PG/GS-13 grade level. Qualifying experience is providing legal advice on employment law matters, as well as providing representation in administrative/judicial proceedings. Note: Law Clerk experience is not qualifying. Experience must be as a licensed Attorney to be creditable.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
