Job summary

RecruitPod Global LLC in Oregon is seeking an experienced plaintiff-side PI associate to own a pre-suit caseload and eventually manage cases through litigation. You will evaluate claims, build damages, and negotiate with insurers alongside our pre-litigation team.

The role requires handling filing, discovery, depositions, and potentially trial while maintaining client communication and support. Remote work is available with a seasoned team in our Oregon practice.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon State Bar license in good standing required.
• Minimum 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience specified.
• Experience handling pre-suit through trial and civil discovery.
• Strong deposition, mediation, and negotiation skills essential.
• Experience with auto and premises liability claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage a primarily pre-suit caseload of auto and premises liability cases.
• Evaluate liability and damages, guiding case strategy with case managers.
• Negotiate settlements with insurers and decide when to file for litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and respond to discovery; take/defend depositions.
• Attend mediation/arbitration; handle trial work when needed.
• Keep clients informed and supported throughout their case.

Job description

We are a plaintiff personal injury boutique practicing in Oregon and Florida, with our main office headquartered in Portland.

We specialize in trucking, motorcycle, and e-bike crashes.

Our team works remotely and is backed by a team of experienced case managers and support staff so our attorneys can focus on building strong claims and getting our clients the results they deserve.

We're growing our Oregon practice and looking for an experienced PI associate to take ownership of a pre-suit caseload.

The Role

Most of your time will be spent resolving cases pre-suit: evaluating claims, building damages, and negotiating with insurers alongside our pre-litigation team.

When a case doesn't resolve, you'll take it into litigation, handling filing, discovery, depositions, arbitration/mediation, and trial when needed.

This role is ideal for an attorney who is strong at pre-suit resolution and still comfortable carrying a case through the courtroom.

Job Duties

• Manage a primarily pre-suit caseload of auto and premises liability cases
• Evaluate liability and damages, and guide case strategy with our case managers
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers
• Decide when to file and move unresolved cases into litigation
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and written discovery
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend mediation and arbitration
• Handle trial work when cases require it
• Keep clients informed and supported throughout their case

Requirements

• Active license in good standing with the Oregon State Bar (an active Washington license is a plus)
• At least 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience
• Experience managing a pre-suit and litigation caseload
• Experience taking cases from pre-suit through filing and trial
• Civil motion practice and discovery experience, including drafting and responding to discovery, motions, and pleadings
• Experience conducting and defending depositions
• Experience attending and negotiating at mediation
• Experience handling both automobile and premises liability cases
