Job summary

Mission Recruiting is representing an established litigation practice seeking an Appellate Attorney with 4+ years of direct appellate experience for its Midtown Manhattan, New York City office. This hybrid appellate attorney position offers substantive brief writing and oral advocacy work, experienced mentorship, and a clear focus on long-term professional development.

Compensation includes a base salary of $150,000–$170,000, plus bonus and benefits, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission in good standing at the time of interview
• At least 4 years of direct appellate experience
• Experience compiling records or appendices on appeal
• Ability to meet a 1,650 annual billable-hour requirement

Responsibilities

• Draft appellants’ and respondents’ briefs
• Compile records and appendices on appeal when representing appellants
• Prepare for and appear at oral arguments
• Assist with summary judgment motions
• Assist with post-trial motions
• Provide litigation strategy and trial support
• Collaborate with attorneys on appellate and litigation matters
