Job summary

Jobot seeks a Permanent Attorney in Chicago, IL with a JD and at least 5 years of insurance litigation experience. You will provide coverage counsel, draft opinions, manage depositions, and appear in court as needed to support complex insurance disputes.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of insurance litigation, including pleadings, motions, and interrogatories.
• Draft and interpret complex commercial insurance policies and reinsurance contracts.
• Prepare and issue detailed coverage opinions and Coverage Position Letters.
• Effectively manage and conduct depositions and trial preparations.
• Make court appearances and represent the company in all legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with the legal team and other departments to manage risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to insurance and reinsurance.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and provide them with expert legal advice and guidance.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of commercial insurance policies, reinsurance, and policy interpretation. • 4. Extensive experience in trial preparation, depositions, court appearances, and handling interrogatories.


• 5. Proven track record in drafting coverage opinions and Coverage Position Letters.


• 6. Solid understanding of policy interpretation and coverage litigation.


• 7. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.


• 8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• 9. Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.


• 10. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.


• 11. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
