Career Legal is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with at least two years of relevant experience to join our thriving estate planning practice.

You will work directly alongside firm leadership on complex, high-value matters, managing administration from inception to resolution and counseling high-net-worth clients on sophisticated tax-minimization strategies.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• 2+ years of dedicated Trusts & Estates experience.
• Exceptional drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage trust and estate administration matters independently from inception to resolution.
• Counsel high-net-worth clients on estate planning strategies, including tax minimization and wealth transfer goals.
• Prepare federal gift tax returns and estate tax filings.
• Draft wills, revocable/irrevocable trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate court proceedings.
• Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with state and federal law.

An established, full-service boutique law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney with at least two years of relevant experience. They are looking for a dedicated attorney to join a thriving estate planning practice group and work directly alongside firm leadership on complex, high-value matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage trust and estate administration matters independently from inception to resolution.
• Counsel high-net-worth clients on custom estate planning strategies, including tax minimization, creditor protection, and long-term family wealth transfer goals.
• Prepare federal gift tax returns alongside federal and state estate tax filings.
• Draft comprehensive estate planning instruments, including sophisticated wills, revocable/irrevocable trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate court proceedings.
• Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with shifting state and federal tax and estate laws.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
• 2+ years of dedicated Trusts & Estates experience, encompassing estate planning, trust administration, and probate.
• Exceptional legal drafting, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Client-focused communication style and the ability to handle multiple active client files concurrently.
