Our client, a well-established law firm with a strong focus on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy matters, is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to join their Tennessee-based team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, work directly with clients, and play a key role in delivering high-quality legal representation across Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent creditor clients in bankruptcy matters, primarily involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents including motions, objections, proofs of claim, and proposed orders.
  • Appear in court for hearings and proceedings related to bankruptcy cases.
  • Handle mortgage-related mediation matters within bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of cases, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Address urgent and escalated matters with sound judgment and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to maintain smooth case workflow and uphold quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and responsive service.
  • Contribute to team initiatives and support additional projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Tennessee, in good standing.
  • Admission to the Federal District Courts in Tennessee (or ability to obtain promptly).
  • Must reside in Tennessee.
  • 1–10 years of experience handling bankruptcy matters, with a preference for experience representing creditors or lenders.
  • Working knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 procedures; exposure to Chapter 11 or adversary proceedings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with courtroom practices and bankruptcy litigation processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with financial information and case-related data.
