Job Description And Duties

Join our Inland Empire Legal team and play a meaningful role in supporting workers and employers across California. State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Inland Empire Legal Unit B is seeking a motivated Attorney to join our exceptional legal team. We represent the insured employers and various State Agencies of California, handling challenging workers' compensation‑related issues. As an Attorney with us, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact by handling, defending, litigating, and resolving workers’ compensation cases.

Location: This position involves appearances before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, including Pomona district office, as well as other board locations as needed. The role includes both in‑person and virtual appearances, and travel within the state may be required. Possible locations include Riverside, San Diego, Santa Ana, or Glendale.

Your Role
  • Collaborating with internal and external clients
  • Drafting pleadings, correspondences, and other legal documents
  • Conducting discovery and supporting case development
  • Participating in settlement discussions and negotiations
  • Making confident court appearances, including trials

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
