Fairmont Orchid on Hawai‘i Island is seeking an Attendant (General Cleaner) to maintain exceptional guest rooms and public areas in a luxury resort. You’ll dust, make beds, tidy bathrooms and ensure spotless linens while delivering warm, welcoming service.

Qualifications

• Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience is an asset.
• Basic understanding of the English language.
• Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs by being professional and welcoming.
• Lifting requirements up to 25 lbs.
• Carrying of objects weighting up to 50lbs.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management.
• Stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, seeing, hearing, speaking to guests.

Responsibilities

• Clean guestrooms to include: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, daily turndown service and retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenishing room supplies
• “Own” lobby and/or public area assigned, on a regular schedule, cleaning, spot sweeping, carpet dusting when necessary, keeping glass doors, mirrors free of fingerprints, and elevators regularly
• Clean all mirrors and glasses; inside of windows; all vents in assigned areas stock all paper supplies in restrooms and storage closets; wipe, clean all marble and tables and dust all surfaces
• Take initiative to add a personalized experience for the guest
• Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Accurately report room status reports throughout the duration of your shift
• Take ownership of guests’ privacy and belongings, while ensuring exceptional service
• Work effectively and contribute positively to a team
• Keep linen closets, supply closet and landing organized and clean
• Report damage or malfunction in hotel rooms/areas
• Respond professionally, politely, and efficiently to requests from guests
• Use hands to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
• Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards
• Read, understand and follow all department policies

Experience a 3 week - 5 week internship in a luxury resort environment. The Attendant (General Cleaner) is responsible for ensuring we provide the highest level of cleanliness in our guestrooms.

Hourly Rate:

$23.65 USD
