Springfield Public Schools is seeking an Attendance Summer Ambassador to support attendance initiatives during the summer months. You will contact families by phone, mail or in person to address student attendance and respond to referrals, with on-site visits as needed.
Responsibilities include daily follow-up, compiling attendance data, and collaborating with schools, social services and district teams to reconnect students with education and support services.
The Attendance Summer Ambassador is to support the Springfield Public Schools in addressing attendance at all levels and in the prevention and intervention for chronic students during the summer months. The Ambassador will communicate with the parent/guardian by telephone, mail or in person to address the attendance of students. The Ambassador will also respond to telephone calls or other referrals or may go on location to intervene to support the student's return to school.
Conducts daily follow-up on student attendance
Compiles aggregate attendance data to identify chronically absent students and assists with attendance processes and prioritizing cases
Participates in Home Visits as assigned
Identifies students' needs and assists school personnel in making the connections with the services needed
Serves as the attendance liaison between school and home
Maintains accurate logs
