Maricopa Unified School District is seeking an Attendance Clerk to monitor student absences and tardies, enter attendance data, and run standard reports. The role supports school operations and ensures timely communication with parents when a student is absent.
The clerk will also verify enrollment documents, assist with data entry in the student management system, and provide customer service to students and families while maintaining confidential records.
The Attendance Clerk is responsible for the tracking of daily absences and tardies for students.
To comply with A.R.S. 15-807 - Absence from school; notification of parent or person having custody of pupil. Within two hours after the first class in which the pupil is absent, shall make a reasonable effort to promptly telephone and notify the parent or other person who has custody of the pupil of the pupil's absence from school.
Able to perform the following physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation: critical sensory requirements include general vision, corrected to 20/20, hear or listen in the normal range (corrected) and speak and give directions clearly. Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 lbs.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel, customer service skills (person and phone), ability to multi-task, communication skills (written and verbal), working knowledge of student management system helpful. Bilingual preferred. Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
