Midfield City Board of Education is seeking an Attendance and Student Success Specialist to promote student engagement, reduce chronic absenteeism, and coordinate intervention services. The role serves as a liaison among schools, families, community agencies, juvenile court, and social services to remove barriers to learning.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred), teaching experience (preferred), and a valid Alabama Driver’s License.

Superintendent or Designee
To promote student success by improving attendance, reducing chronic absenteeism, supporting student well-being, coordinating intervention services, and ensuring compliance with state attendance laws and district policies. The Student Attendance and Student Services Specialist serves as a liaison among schools, families, community agencies, juvenile court, and social service organizations to remove barriers to learning and increase student engagement, attendance, and academic achievement.
Ability to build effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents, community agencies, and government organizations. Knowledge of Alabama compulsory attendance laws, residency requirements, and student support services. Skilled in technology and student information systems. Strong organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, family engagement, crisis intervention, and community.
Twelve-month contract (240 days), non-tenured track.
