Job summary

Hunters Run Country Club in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a friendly Cashier/Order Taker to greet members, take orders, process transactions, and prepare beverages. This role supports a fast-paced club environment with emphasis on accuracy, service, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Prior cashier, café, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• POS experience preferred.
• Coffee or beverage preparation experience preferred but may be taught.
• Must complete Hunters Run Country Club training.
• Must obtain and maintain any required food-handler or food-safety certification.
• Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Must communicate effectively in English to understand member requests and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
• Process member charges, credit/debit card transactions, and other payments according to Club procedures.
• Confirm orders and transactions for accuracy before completing service.
• Prepare and serve coffee, specialty beverages, and other non-alcoholic beverages.
• Assist with preparing, packaging, and serving food items as assigned.
• Learn menu items, ingredients, pricing, specials, and substitutions.
• Answer basic member questions and communicate special requests to team members.
• Keep workstation, counters, equipment, display areas, and member-facing areas clean, stocked, and organized.
• Restock supplies as needed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, labeling, storage, and rotation procedures.
• Report issues to a Manager or Captain.
• Follow opening, running, and closing side-work procedures.
• Follow all POS, safety, security, and Club policies.
• Report to work on time, properly groomed, and in the required uniform.
• Remain calm, courteous, and professional during busy periods.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers, Captains, Managers, Culinary staff, and other departments.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier/Order Taker provides friendly, accurate, and efficient service to Hunters Run Country Club members and guests. This position is responsible for greeting members, taking food and beverage orders, processing transactions, preparing beverages, assisting with food items, keeping the work area clean, and following Club service and safety standards. The Cashier/Order Taker supports a positive member experience through professionalism, teamwork, accuracy, and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
• Process member charges, credit/debit card transactions, and other approved payments according to Club procedures.
• Confirm orders and transactions for accuracy before completing service.
• Prepare and serve coffee, specialty beverages, and other non-alcoholic beverages according to standards.
• Assist with preparing, packaging, and serving food items as assigned.
• Learn menu items, ingredients, pricing, specials, and available substitutions.
• Answer basic member questions and communicate special requests, allergies, or dietary needs to the appropriate team members.
• Keep the workstation, counters, equipment, display areas, and member-facing areas clean, stocked, and organized.
• Restock supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, condiments, utensils, beverages, and food products as needed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, hygiene, labeling, storage, and product rotation procedures.
• Report low stock, product concerns, safety issues, or equipment problems to a Manager or Captain.
• Follow opening, running, and closing side-work procedures.
• Follow all POS, safety, security, and Club policies.
• Report to work on time, properly groomed, and in the required uniform.
• Remain calm, courteous, and professional during busy periods.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers, Captains, Managers, Culinary staff, and other departments.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

MEMBER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS

The Cashier/Order Taker is expected to provide friendly, professional service by:

• Welcoming members and guests promptly.
• Using member names when known and appropriate.
• Listening carefully and confirming orders for accuracy.
• Remaining patient, courteous, and professional.
• Handling concerns discreetly and involving management when needed.
• Protecting member privacy and following through on member requests whenever possible.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Ability to learn menu items, beverages, POS procedures, and Club standards.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions.
• Ability to operate a POS system accurately.

• Willingness to follow established recipes, procedures, and service standards.
