Athletics Volunteer Coach – Flexible Hours (COC)

Job summary

A local educational organization is looking for a Certificate of Clearance Volunteer to assist in providing a comprehensive athletics program at Vancouver Public Schools. This role includes conducting practices, overseeing games, and educating athletes while adhering to WIAA policies. Prior experience in coaching K-12 athletes and strong communication skills are essential. This position requires flexibility in working hours and is vital for fostering a positive sporting environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport or event in which the candidate is applying.
• Recent coaching experience with K-12 athletes preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR card, or ability to obtain prior to established start date.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience demonstrating strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with diverse students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support vision for a comprehensive athletics program.
• Conduct practices focusing on proper technique.
• Attend and supervise athletes at games.
• Teach and demonstrate sportsmanship.
• Organize and evaluate practice sessions.
• Adhere to district, league, and WIAA policies.
• Maintain uniforms and equipment inventory.
• Communicate effectively with diverse parties.
• Work as a team player under program direction.
• Serve as a positive role model.
• Adapt to flexible working conditions.
