Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking an Intercollegiate Athletics Equipment Specialist to oversee equipment and apparel for six sport programs.

You will supervise issuance, maintenance, and inventory, coordinate travel gear and event setups, and work with coaches and staff to meet safety and program needs. This Civil Service role offers full-time employment with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years (36 months) of experience in the repair and maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms at the high school or college level.
• Possession of a valid State of Illinois driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise equipment and apparel for six assigned sport programs and ensure availability for practices and competitions.
• Manage issuance, inspection, maintenance, and inventory of equipment; maintain records.
• Coordinate equipment distribution for travel and events and assist with event setup and post-event collection.
• Ensure equipment safety and compliance with standards and manufacturer recommendations.
• Collaborate with coaches and staff to identify equipment needs and fittings.
