Job summary

Lindenwood University is seeking a Director of Development Athletics to secure private philanthropic support for athletics initiatives. You will identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit donors capable of $25,000+ gifts, including efforts targeting $100,000+ gifts.

You will work with alumni, foundations, corporations, and friends of the university to grow donor pipelines. You will lead strategy with athletics leadership and advancement colleagues, supervise a development officer, and travel to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in soliciting major donors and gifts.
Experience in higher education fundraising, preferably with campaigns.
Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar donor management systems.

Responsibilities

Manages a portfolio of major donor prospects capable of $25,000+ gifts with emphasis on larger gifts.
Collaborates with AVP of Development and athletics leadership to develop fundraising strategies.
Meets donors 25–50% of the time via travel, on-campus visits, phone, or video conferencing.
Prepares donor proposals, reports, and tailored donor communications.
Supervises staff and coordinates with stewardship and engagement teams.
