Job summary

University of Dayton is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics Communications to manage media relations and game day duties for multiple NCAA Division I programs. The role supports additional sports and collaborates on event operations for home games.

Ideal candidates possess strong writing, communications skills, and proficiency with TAS/Stat Crew, NCAA Genius, InDesign, and Photoshop. Travel and irregular hours are required as part of a dynamic athletics environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Experience as the primary athletics communications/media relations contact.
Proficiency with writing and strong communication skills.
Experience with in-game statistics programs TAS/Stat Crew.
Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
Proven game day experience in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in multimedia and social media for a communications office.
Ability to work with student athletes, coaches, staff, media and visitors daily.
Must be able to travel with teams and work nights, weekends and some holidays.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Oversee media relations and public relations for at least four NCAA Division I programs.
Coordinate game day duties and assist with operations for selected home events.
Support other sports, including men's and women's basketball, as needed.
Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the Atlantic 10.
