Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department to teach Athletic Training. Compensation is $640 per credit hour.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings arise; postings close yearly on January 31. Future teaching assignments are term-by-term and may include fall, spring and summer.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers instruction on topics of athletic training and first aid and safety.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently.
• Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Makes office hours available for student advising and recruitment; assists students with course-related problems.
• Maintains accurate attendance, grades and records in compliance with FERPA.
• Attends faculty meetings, college assemblies and professional development activities.
• Participates in committees and outreach services to the community.
