Job summary

Krum ISD’s Krum High School is seeking an Athletic Trainer to supervise the school’s athletic training program under the team physician’s direction. You will care for student athletes, plan injury prevention, and coordinate rehabilitation and emergency care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, current Texas TDLR license, and CPR/AED certification; strong organizational and communication skills are essential for collaboration with staff, coaches, and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and TDLR certification.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and injury prevention.
• Ability to provide emergency care and rehabilitation for student athletes.
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes and assistants.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience as an athletic trainer.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a comprehensive injury and illness prevention program for student athletes.
• Provide physical conditioning training for student athletes.
• Attend practices and contests; prepare athletes with protective techniques.
• Provide emergency or continued care and refer to physician as needed.
• Detect and resolve risks to athletes; determine participation.
• Develop procedures for medical emergencies.
• Provide health care information and counsel to student athletes.
• Establish communication with students, parents, medical staff, coaches, and staff.
• Coordinate scheduling of athletic physical examinations.
• Train and supervise student assistants.
• Maintain and file medical, accident, and treatment records.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
