Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer Acute Care in Hickory, NC, responsible for evaluating and managing athlete injuries, as well as preparing athletes for competition.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an athletic training program and maintain state licensure and national certification as required by the NCBATE.
• One year of experience preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.

Essential Functions

• Prepares athletes for practice or competition.
• Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
• Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education / Certification

• Graduate of an athletic training program and maintain state licensure and national certification as required by the NCBATE.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.
