Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks an Athletic Trainer to deliver athletic training services to schools and organizations. You will assist with patient care, operate with the physician and care team, and contribute to injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment for athletes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, state licensure, and BLS certification before start. Travel to assigned locations is expected; NATA BOC certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training program is required.
• Current athletic trainer licensure in the state is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required prior to start date.
• Must be able to travel to assigned work locations.
• NATA BOC certification within 90 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills and experience with online documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services to OSF stakeholders, including schools and organizations.
• Assist with operational functions and patient care in collaboration with the physician and care team.
• Focus on prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athlete injuries.
• Support the provider in clinical care and help align efforts within OSF.
• Contribute to community program objectives for health promotion and wellbeing.

Expected pay for this position is $25.35 - $29.83/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

This position also includes an evening shift differential of $2.25/hour

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Athletic Trainer provides athletic training services to OSF stakeholders, including organizations and schools. Assists with operational functions and patient care for OSF HealthCare providers. Working in collaboration with the physician and care team, focuses on the prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of injuries incurred by athletes. Supports the provider in the clinical care of the athlete or patient and may help facilitate alignment within OSF. May contribute to the development of community program objectives for the health promotion, wellbeing, and education of athletes, patients, and their support systems.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited athletic training program
• Athletic trainer licensure in current state
• Current American Heart Association BLS required prior to start date of employment
• Ability to travel to assigned work locations
• National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA BOC) within 90 days of hire
• Other Skills: Basic computer skills and experience with online documentation
