Job summary

University of Kentucky HealthCare Sports Medicine seeks a dedicated Athletic Trainer to provide daily medical coverage, injury prevention, and return-to-play planning for university athletes. You will liaise with players, coaches, and healthcare professionals to ensure athlete health and safety.

Responsibilities include documenting injuries, coordinating referrals with physicians, aiding emergency protocols, and supporting event coverage.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of sports injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with athletes, coaches, and families.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficient in EMR documentation and basic administrative tasks.
• Commitment to continuing education and evidence-based clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Daily medical coverage for athletic events and practice sessions.
• Injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning.
• Coordinate with physicians and rehabilitation specialists for referrals.
• Assist with emergency planning and response at training and match facilities.
• Promote education and awareness on injury prevention and performance optimization.
• Support event coverage and medical operations as needed.
