Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan seeks an Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient care team. You will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive care programs for patients, clients and athletes, focusing on injury prevention, clinical evaluation, and rehabilitation under physician direction.

Responsibilities include clinical assessment, assisting clinic operations, reviewing medical histories, wound care, and EMR entry. Education must include a master’s degree post-2020 and Mich.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field (before 2020) or Master’s degree required after 2020.
• Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License.
• NATA BOC Certification preferred and CPR certification.
• Minimum one year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical evaluation and assessment of injuries or illnesses.
• Assist clinical staff with clinic operations.
• Review patients’ medical histories and apply them to evaluation and processes.
• Provide wound management and immobilization (crutch/brace fitting, casts).
• Provide patient and family education as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Enter medication, lab and radiology orders into EMR per guidelines.
• Assist with ongoing training of orthopaedic clinical staff.

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient care team. In this role, you will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive health care programs for patients, clients and athletes. The practice of athletic training includes injury/illness prevention and wellness protection, clinical evaluation and recommendations for immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organizational and professional health and well-being of individuals, all under the direction of a physician.

What You'll Do:

• Provide clinical evaluation and assessment of an individual for an injury or illness.
• Assists clinical staff with the operation of the clinic
• Reviews patients’ medical histories and applied them in evaluation, assessment and processes.
• Provides wound management
• Applied appropriate crutch and brace fitting, cast, and splinting.
• Provides patient/family education as directed by healthcare provider.
• Directly enters medication, laboratory and radiology orders into the electronic medical record per guidelines.
• Assists with ongoing training of existing orthopaedic clinical staff.

General Requirements:

• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field if completed before 2020: otherwise, effective 2020, Masters degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field required.
• CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License. NATA BOC Certification preferred. Valid American Heart Association CPR certification.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of related experience preferred.
