Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training and clinical support within sports medicine and orthopedic practice. You will liaise with providers and local athletes at collegiate and high school/youth programs, collaborating with the Physical Therapy department for comprehensive care.

If you have the Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC), you will also assist in surgical procedures as directed by the orthopedic surgeon, under clinical leadership supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must have CAATE-accredited Athletic Training program graduation.
  • Current state athletic trainer license or in compliance with state act; BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.
  • BOC certification is required; NBCOT certification eligible or in process; casting certification required or within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training and clinical support in sports medicine and orthopedics.
  • Act as liaison between providers and local collegiate/high school athletes.
  • If OTC obtained, assist in surgical procedures as directed by orthopedic surgeon.

Summary

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training required (graduation from CAATE accredited program). Master’s degree preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Athletic Trainer required or in compliance with the state practice act. The pay range for this position is $61,256.00to $82,867.20per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
