Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Richmond seeks an Athletic Trainer to deliver clinical support, assisting physical therapists, evaluating injuries, and guiding rehab and return-to-play.

Responsibilities include creating treatment plans, coordinating with physicians and outreach trainers, and educating patients. Requires AT degree and licensure; 2+ years preferred; EPIC experience valued; competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required.
• NATA BOC Certification required; current AT license in the practicing state.
• BLS certification preferred; required within 30 days for some facilities, and at hire for RSFH.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily clinical treatment of patients, supporting physical therapists in implementing treatment plans.
• Provide guidance to patients on exercise programs, bracing, and scheduling.
• Coordinate injury prevention programs and functional return-to-play workflows for athletes.
• Coordinate care with outreach athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to optimize throughput.
• Document injury treatments and develop plans of care.
• Maintain competency through continuing education and in-service training.
