Job summary

CHRISTUS Health's Santa Rosa campus in San Antonio seeks an athletic trainer to assess, plan, implement and coordinate patient care for athletes and students. You will collaborate with coaches, physicians, and care teams to deliver prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services across athletic programs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field, athletic trainer certification, state license or NATABOC and BLS, and three years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, a related field, or commensurate experience as an athletic trainer.
  • Three years as an athletic trainer (includes student internship).
  • State license or NATABOC and BLS required; other credentials may be required within 4 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical athletic training services in clinic and athletic programs; coordinate care with coaches and physicians.
  • Complete paperwork such as weekly timesheets and injury treatment logs; develop new tracking tools as needed.
  • Plan and implement new sport programs; monitor athlete progress and program effectiveness.
  • Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, and physicians about injuries and care needs.
  • Actively market services to schools and physicians; expand partnerships within the CHRISTUS Health system.
