Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley seeks an Athletic Trainer II to provide direct patient evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal conditions across clinics, schools, and sports settings. You will apply clinical competencies per BOC standards and state regulations to support injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Collaborate with the sports medicine team, educators, and coaches to manage concussions, return-to-play criteria, and conditioning programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Athletic training or related field
  • Two years of athletic training experience
  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer Certification
  • Athletic Trainer Registration/Licensure to be obtained prior to start of athletic coverage
  • CAATE accredited professional Athletic Training program
  • BLS from the American Heart Association with 90 days of hire
  • Current valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Completes evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice.
  • Participates in the daily care of athletes, including injury prevention, injury evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, injury rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, and administration.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine team in order to develop and implement comprehensive best practices for injury prevention, injury evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, injury rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, and administration.
  • Works with sports medicine team, school administration, school health programs, and coaches to manage concussions, including coordinating neurocognitive testing, managing return to play criteria, and supervising graded exertion protocols.
  • Communicates with students, parents, coach, administration, and sports medicine team as appropriate about student conditions.
  • Perform clinical skills and delegated tasks within the scope of practice of a certified athletic trainer.

Education

Bachelor's in Athletic training or related field
Board Certified Athletic Trainer Certification
CAATE accredited professional Athletic Training program
Athletic Trainer Registration/Licensure to be obtained prior to start of athletic coverage
BLS from the American Heart Association with 90 days of hire

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Athletic Trainer II, you will be responsible for direct patient contact primarily for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) and state practice acts.

Every day, your job settings can include health care clinics, secondary schools, youth sports clubs, collegiate athletics, and/or professional clubs. You will apply your specialized expertise to assess injuries, provide immediate care, develop rehabilitation plans, and educate patients on injury prevention, all while adhering to the highest professional standards and state regulations.

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology in diverse settings. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical competency, a patient-centered approach, and the ability to adapt your skills across various athletic environments to ensure optimal patient recovery and athletic performance.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's in Athletic training or related field

  • Two (2) years of athletic training experience

  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer Certification

  • Athletic Trainer Registration/Licensure to be obtained prior to start of athletic coverage

  • CAATE accredited professional Athletic Training program

  • BLS from the American Heart Association with 90 days of hire

  • Current valid driver's license

Pay Range

$25.71 - $37.31 /hour
