Escondido Union High School District is seeking a certified athletic trainer to evaluate and treat student athletes, monitor fitness, and supervise practices and events for optimal performance.

The role requires NATA certification, CPR/First Aid, a California driver’s license, and a bachelor’s degree with eligibility for NATA certification. Responsibilities include injury assessment, first aid, exercise prescription, nutrition education, and collaboration with health staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university including curriculum to qualify to test for National Athletic Trainers Association certification.
• NATA certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association; CPR and First Aid certifications.
• California Driver's License.

Responsabilités

• Maintains files and records for student athletes, with possible tech support.
• Prescribes routine and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles.
• Educates student athletes in nutrition, health and weight management.
• Provides treatment to relieve soreness, strains, and bruises.
• Provides hands-on supervision for student athletic trainers.
• Gives first aid including artificial respiration, wound care, and heat/cold therapy.
• Calls physician for injured persons when required.
• Wraps ankles, fingers, or wrists with tape to support muscles and ligaments.
• Treats chronic minor injuries to maintain athletes' performance.
• Performs treatments as prescribed by health service.
• Assists site nurse in the student health office when needed.
