Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks an Athletic Trainer to deliver direct care for athletic injuries, perform evaluations, and manage rehabilitation with physician oversight. You will document care, educate athletes and families, and assist with seasonal physicals, while adhering to HIPAA and professional standards.

The role requires a CAATE-accredited degree, BOC/PA licenses upon hire, and willingness to travel within 50 miles of the partner locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
• Less than 1 year experience in the clinical setting.
• Knowledge base of anatomy, physiology, exercise responses, and nutrition.
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and psychological demands on athletes.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, compliance plans and QA programs.
• Computer literate with practice management software, EHR, and Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan, document, and refer to healthcare professionals; flexible hours.
• Willingness to travel within 50 miles of partner location.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of injuries and illnesses, including assessment, examination, and diagnosis.
• Provide onsite medical coverage during practices, games, and events.
• Deliver timely medical care for injured athletes and patients.
• Design and adjust individualized treatment/rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions per physician direction and standards.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain compliant documentation of evaluations, treatments, and interactions.
• Educate athletes, patients, families, and coaches on injury prevention and rehabilitation expectations.
• Assist with seasonal sports physicals.
