Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a licensed Athletic Trainer for an onsite PRN role in Englewood, CO. You will prepare athletes, assess injuries, and implement rehab plans under physician supervision, while maintaining medical records and coordinating care with physicians. A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master’s is preferred, with NATA-BOC certification and Colorado DORA licensure.

BLS is required. This onsite position does not offer hybrid or remote options, and compensation ranges from $24.11 to $36.17

Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Recognizes, manages, and rehabilitates injuries to professional, amateur and recreational athletes. Provides techniques for prevention of injuries.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares athletes for practice or competition.
  • Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
  • Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
  • Develops conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Continuing education in the field.
  • Preferred: Master's degree. Required Licensure/Certification: Certification by The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (NATA-BOC). Licensure with the State of Colorado (DORA) as an Athletic Trainer (LAT).
  • Minimum Experience: None Required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care. Experience working in conjunction with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
