Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and patient education within a high school setting. The role supports collaboration with clinicians and fosters patient wellness with a flexible schedule.

New graduates are welcome; mentoring will be provided. Candidates must hold NATA BOC certification and Alabama licensure, with strong communication and organizational skills to thrive in a dynamic clinical

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s in Athletic Training with 3+ years of experience.
  • Current BOC Athletic Trainer certification and Alabama license.
  • New graduates welcome, mentoring provided.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Licensure and certifications as listed in qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  • Coordinate patient care with healthcare professionals and educate patients and families.
  • Independently make decisions impacting patient health and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing compliance where applicable.
  • Participate in performance improvement and community outreach events.
  • Assist with events and injury prevention education outside the clinic as needed.
  • Comply with organizational policies and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and communication in all interactions.
  • Support patient care under supervision of PT or MD when applicable.
  • Adapt to flexible scheduling including varying shifts and event coverage.

Responsibilities
  • Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries according to professional standards of practice
  • Coordinate patient care with healthcare professionals and educate patients and families on treatment plans and injury prevention
  • Independently make decisions that positively impact patient health and quality of life
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with billing procedures when applicable
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, educational programs, and community outreach events
  • Assist with special events and injury prevention education programs outside of the clinic setting as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude in all interactions
  • Support patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist or Medical Doctor when applicable
  • Adapt to flexible scheduling needs, including varying shifts and occasional event support
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in a related field OR Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Preferred certifications include one or more of the following:
    • NASM-CES
    • NASM-PES
    • ISFTA-CPT
    • NSCA-CSCS
    • FMS
    • SFMA
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • New graduates are welcome, mentoring will be provided.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current certification as an Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Current Athletic Trainer license in the State of Alabama
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license and insurable driving record preferred
