Job summary

Mary Rutan Health Center in Bellefontaine, OH seeks an Athletic Trainer to prevent and treat athletic injuries under physician supervision. You will develop therapies to reduce pain, improve mobility, and assist in exercise instruction and evaluation.

You will oversee the organization and administration of the athletic training facility and equipment, provide emergency care, refer injuries to the appropriate professionals, and monitor return-to-play decisions.

Qualifications

• Master’s in athletic training or equivalent licensure education.
• Licensed Athletic Trainer in Ohio, in good standing.
• Current BLS through the American Heart Association.

The Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. The athletic trainer provides emergency treatment of athletic injuries, referral of athletic injuries to the proper medical professionals, rehabilitation and treatment of athletic injuries, and monitors return to play situations. The athletic trainer is responsible for the organization and administration of the school’s athletic training facility and equipment.

Regulatory Requirements

• Master’s in athletic training or relevant equivalent post-secondary education to achieve licensure.
• Licensed Athletic Trainer in good standing with the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS through the American Heart Association.

• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
