Job summary

Qualifications

  • Athletic Trainer certification and clinical assessment skills required.
  • Experience providing care for athletes, including evaluation and return-to-play decisions.
  • Documentation of patient interactions and coordination with healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sports-related care for athletes and patients.
  • Make return-to-play decisions as appropriate.
  • Maintain documentation on appropriate forms.
  • Keep training room organized and safe.
  • Assist with supply ordering and inventory.
  • Assist sports medicine coordinator with budgeting for the school.
  • Coordinate referrals and scheduling with healthcare providers.
  • Work with school and district on emergency action plans and policies.
  • Ensure insurance forms are completed and disseminated.
  • Educate and advocate for patient/athlete/family.
  • Be available by phone to the assigned school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary

Most new hires start between $24.40-$30.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information

Responsible to recognize, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate participating athletes who have suffered a sports injury or illness as well as provide injury prevention education to those athletes. Responsibilities include coverage of athletic team events and additional special events as assigned. Serves as the primary liaison between the assigned school, the parent/athlete, and appropriate healthcare providers. Responsible for other duties at ACH as assigned.

Description
  • Provides appropriate sports related care for athletes/patients.
  • Makes return to play decision as appropriate.
  • Maintains documentation of patient/athlete interaction on appropriate forms, including documentation of any necessary follow up.
  • Keeps athletic training room neat, organized, and safe.
  • Assists with supply ordering; maintains organization and inventory of supplies/equipment.
  • Assists the sports medicine coordinator in budgeting related to assigned school.
  • Assists with the referral and scheduling of athletes to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Coordinates with school and district personnel on implementation of emergency action plans and sports medicine related policy.
