Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide on-site medical support for local high school and college athletes, YMCA, and recreation departments.

You will educate athletes on injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation while progressing rehabilitation protocols to return athletes to pre-injury function and referring to specialists when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited NATA BOC curriculum required.
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer (NATA BOC/state AT associations)

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical support for athletes at local high schools, colleges, YMCA, and recreation departments.
• Refer individuals to appropriate specialists or General Practitioner when necessary.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics and rehabilitation.

Job description

The Athletic Trainer provides on-site medical support for local high school and college athletes, YMCA, and recreation departments. When necessary, he/she refers individuals to the appropriate specialist or General Practitioner. The Athletic Trainer provides patient education regarding injury prevention, anatomy, body mechanics, and rehabilitation. The primary mission of the Athletic Trainer is to progress athletes through rehabilitation protocols and return them functionally to a state comparable to pre-injury.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

• Education
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
  • Completion of an accredited curriculum established by the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA) Board of Certification required
• Experience
  • Knowledge of the Athletic Training profession as normally acquired through academic experience, clinical affiliations, and/or previous work experience in the field
• Licensure/Certification
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer NATA Board of Certification/applicable state Athletic Trainers Associations
