Join our dynamic team as an Athletic Trainer and become a vital part of promoting athlete health, optimizing performance, and preventing injuries.

Schedule:

Up to 40 hours per week.

About the Position:

We are seeking experienced Athletic Trainers to support a comprehensive Human Performance and Holistic Health & Fitness (HHF) program serving Air Force personnel. The Athletic Trainer will help improve physical performance, reduce preventable injuries, support rehabilitation, and provide mission‑specific performance guidance for personnel operating in demanding and rapidly changing environments.

The position will work closely with Human Performance professionals and unit personnel to provide evidence‑based training, performance evaluations, injury‑prevention support, and individualized guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Human Performance evaluations and assess physical performance needs.
  • Provide athletic training and injury‑prevention support.
  • Develop and deliver individualized and group performance programs.
  • Support strength, endurance, mobility, durability, and overall physical readiness.
  • Provide guidance tailored to demanding operational and mission requirements.
  • Participate in unit physical training sessions and performance‑training activities.
  • Support performance clinics, including running and exercise‑form training.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, training sessions, outcomes, and individual performance metrics.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other Human Performance professionals and unit fitness personnel.
  • Provide performance guidance that can be maintained by personnel when deployed or operating without direct trainer support.
  • Participate in required meetings, training, professional development, and program activities.
  • Work effectively in field environments, including inclement weather and nonstandard working conditions when required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; Bachelor's degree in sport psychology or sub‑disciplines of intervention/performance enhancement, health/exercise psychology, cognitive psychology, counseling, and/or social psychology. Degree must be from a school recognized by a professional accrediting organization, e.g., Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES), American Board of Sport Psychology, Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), or American Psychological Association (APA).
  • Athletic Trainer certified through and accredited organization.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in athletic training.
  • Able to be transported in government provided ground vehicles.
