Job summary

Prisma Health’s Home Equipment - Maryville department is seeking a dedicated Athletic Training professional to provide orthotic fitting, measuring, and dispensing of devices for patients. You will educate patients, collect necessary records for billing, and coordinate appointments for fittings and follow-ups in the Equipped for Life office.

Responsibilities include inventory management and acting as a liaison between clinical and billing teams to ensure proper documentation for insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training required.
• 1 year DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fitting, measuring, and dispensing orthotic devices and related soft goods.
• Educate patients/caregivers on usage, maintenance and care of orthoses.
• Collect prescriptions, demographics, insurance, and medical records for billing.
• Schedule initial fittings and follow-up appointments.
• Stock and maintain inventories of DME and orthoses.
• Liaise between clinical and billing staff to document medical necessity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care and education for fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and other durable medical equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions

• Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids.

• Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses.

• Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes.

• Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped for Life office.

• Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses.

• Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field of study preferred.

• Experience - No experience required. One (1) year of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience preferred. Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
