Job summary

  • YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Entry level, one year experience preferred
  • REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge in assessment, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries; good manual skills and communication

Responsibilities

  • Assist with treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team, including initial evaluation and rehabilitation exercises.
  • Document in EMR and communicate daily with physician/provider.
  • Instruct patients/families regarding proper utilization and fit of durable medical equipment and casts/splints.
  • Participate in performance improvement programs and initiatives as assigned.
  • Complete clerical requests and ensure timely documentation in the EMR.

Responsibilities Treatment

  • Assist with the treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team to include initial evaluation, documentation in the electronic medical record, wound care management and presentation of rehabilitation exercises.
  • Instruct patients/families regarding proper utilization and fit of durable medical equipment and casts/splints.
  • Communicate daily with physician/provider and document information appropriately.
  • Respond promptly to patient communications.
Professional Development
  • Participate in performance improvement programs.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Articulate outcomes and improvements.
  • Participate in educational in-services/opportunities to advance knowledge/competencies.
  • Maintain positive work environment and professional image.
  • Complete mandatory education per The Christ Hospital Health Network and meet state requirements.
  • Active participation in mentoring fellow employees and orientation of new employees and students when assigned.
Productivity/Department Management
  • Demonstrate good time management skills by making productive use of down time which may include: maintain adequate inventory of supplies, notify clinical engineering or other appropriate personnel for maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the revenue cycle as it pertains to clinicians by accurate and timely completion of encounter forms.
  • Complete clerical requests for additional information in a timely manner.
Documentation
  • Follow department documentation policies.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Complete all patient related documentation in EMR according to guidelines.
  • Comply with The Christ Hospital Health Network, department, and regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION: BA/BS in Sports Medicine or Athletic Training. Master's Degree preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Entry level, one year experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge in assessment, recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries in the school setting. Good manual skills; good communication skills.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Certified in athletic training by National Athletic Trainer’s Association, licensed in athletic training in the State of Ohio, certified in CPR.
