Job summary

Georgia Tech Campus Recreation in Atlanta, GA, seeks an Athletic Trainer to perform and supervise a range of activities related to the physical care of intercollegiate athletes. You will assist in injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and coordination with physicians and athletic staff.

The role includes first aid/CPR training, maintaining training records, and may supervise other staff; non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Athletic Training required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Athletic Training.

Department Information

The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on Ferst Drive on the west side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.

Job Summary

Perform and supervise a variety of activities involving the physical care of and sports equipment support for Georgia Tech intercollegiate sports athletes. May include prevention and treatment of injuries; therapy, coordination of medications, first aid/CPR training, equipment movement and storage; and liaison with physician and healthcare facilities. Specific duties may vary based on sports team assignments. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: training staff, student athletes, coaching staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: student athletes, student trainers. This position may supervise: training staff members.

Educational Requirements

Master's Degree in Athletic Training or an educational program accredited by the National Athletic Trainers Association - Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer

Certifications or licenses required for this job: Certification from the Board for Athletic Trainers, CAATE, NTA or other accredited body for Athletic trainers
