Job summary

Northwood University is seeking an Athletic Pep Band Director to supervise and develop band members, recruit talent, and manage events and practices. The role focuses on providing pep band performances at on-campus athletic events, from football and basketball to hockey and soccer, while fostering community and alumni relations.

The director will coordinate travel, handle administrative duties, and contribute to fund-raising efforts, reporting to the Sr. Associate AD for Emerging Sports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Working knowledge of music and instrumental instruction.
• Previous directing experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and development of band members.
• Recruitment.
• Event and practice preparation and management.
• Provide pep band at on-campus events with focus on athletic events.
• Community and alumni relations as assigned.
• Make travel arrangements if necessary.
• Drive to and from events and practices (as needed).
• Administrative duties as assigned.
• Fund-raising as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by Sr. Associate AD for Emerging Sports.
