SSC Services for Education, a Compass Group affiliate, seeks a Grounds Manager to coordinate and oversee recreational fields and related operations. This role includes budgeting, procurement, and leading field renovations, with a focus on proactive problem solving.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in horticulture or related field, 5+ years in green industry leadership, CMMS experience, and strong budgeting skills. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass, Landscape Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive grounds/landscape management experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; experience managing large teams.
• Experience with CMMS systems and reporting tools; budgeting and forecasting.
• Valid driver’s license and strong knowledge of horticulture, turf, and irrigation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall grounds operations across assigned areas.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive performance and service consistency.
• Oversee daily operations and workforce productivity.
• Assist in managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs related to quality, safety, and service delivery.
• Coach and develop management and supervisory staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
• Manage vendor setup, performance, and contracts.
